Overview
LexsEdu ("we", "us") builds an education platform for teachers, schools, students and parents. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We designed LexsEdu to be private by default: schools own their data and we never sell your information.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide and information generated as you use the platform:
- Account data — name, email, phone, role and, for schools, organisation details.
- Educational content — lessons, resources, assessments and records you create or upload.
- Usage & device data — pages visited, features used, device identifier and approximate location, used to secure accounts and improve the product.
How we use information
To provide and secure the service, personalise your experience, process payments, provide support, send important service messages, and — with consent where required — occasional product updates. AI features process the content you submit only to generate the output you requested.
AI processing
When you use AI tools, the text you submit is sent to our AI providers to generate a response. We do not use your private content to train third-party base models. Grounding data such as pricing is provided to keep answers accurate.
Sharing
We share data only with service providers who help us run the platform (hosting, payments, email/SMS, AI) under contract, or where required by law. Within a school, data is shared according to roles the school controls. We do not sell personal data.
Data ownership & security
Each school owns its data and can export it at any time. We encrypt data in transit and at rest, control access per device, and apply least-privilege internally.
Your rights
You may access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Children
Where students are minors, accounts are created and managed under the direction of their school or parent, who act as the data controller for that content.
